Priority processing

If you make a donation, you can get priority processing. This means that your URLs don't have to wait in the job queue but they will be processed as fast as possible. If no other priority users are active, you will usually get 16 screenshots within 3 to 10 minutes. For a donation of 10 Euros, you can specify one domain name (www.example.com) that will get priority processing for one month. This includes all pages on that domain, but not on different subdomains.
The simplest way to send money is to click on the PayPal button. I also have a bank account in Germany. If you want to transfer money directly, send email to johann@browsershots.org and ask for details. Financial support will accelerate the project development considerably. I am a full-time student and work on Browsershots in my spare time, but I have to take proprietary jobs to pay the rent and the server bills.
Per Domain or Per URL?

We are particularly impressed with your ongoing work on the browsershots project. I must question the priority service on a per domain basis though. This is open to low level abuse by those who can upload multiple pages or frame pages on one particular domain. Wouldn't it be more efficient and fairer to yourselves to give priority on a per URL basis? In the age of XHTML and CSS, one page shot is normally sufficient to determine browser specific errors. I hope this is a useful suggestion. Notwithstanding that, we'll be making our own donations in due course. All the best, Mat.
Per submission would be better (if we had user accounts)

I'm not sure if I understand correctly. It makes no difference if I give one month of priority to a specific URL (http://www.example.com/test/index.html) instead of a domain (everything below http://www.example.com/) because it can be "abused" just as easily (HTTP redirect). So I think you're suggesting that it would be fairer to grant priority to a submitted URL once only and not for a whole month, to which I fully agree. But the administrative overhead would be too large for manual processing, and a user account management system would be necessary. At the moment I find it more important to improve the screenshot system. In the long run, I plan to make it possible for users to bid just a few cents per job to improve their queue position.
